Hi there! I’m Jacob Grandstaff.

I created this site for a portfolio of my writing and a blog when I can’t contain my thoughts — or don’t have a better outlet to express them.

In addition to original posts on this site, I crosspost from my history blog and Medium articles.

A little about me: I graduated with a BA in history from the University of North Alabama in 2015. I taught high school while working toward my MA in history. I moved to the Washington, DC area in 2017 for internships and to research my thesis, which I completed in 2019.

For hobbies, I enjoy outdoor activities, traveling — often on a whim — watching baseball and hockey, and just spending quality time with friends.

This blog may include travelogues, personal goofy experiences, and my take on economic and cultural trends. Most of my content, however, gears toward history and politics.
